Scandinature chronicles largest ship

Scandinature Films and director Bo Landin is following the building of the world's larges cruise ship.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is doing it again. Following the successful launch of the Freedom class of cruise ships - reigning giants of the seas – they have embarked on a project to build even larges ships. The Genesis class will launch in 2009 and will be much bigger than anything that sails on the high seas. Director Bo Landin has followed the process since the first drawings and ideas were put on the table.

- It is a fascinating process to follow a small group of people who are essentially building a city at sea. There are hundreds and thousands of ideas that are being tossed up in the air in the process, and only the best will survive at the end of the day, says Bo Landin, who also directed the Discovery Channel film about the Freedom of the Seas.

A TV venue for the film about the Genesis project has not yet been chosen, but RCCL will select its TV partner soon.

- This promises to be a very interesting film, a close behind the scenes look at how a ship like this is born from the first ideas to the final product. We have seen a lot of films about steel, welding and ship yard construction. I hope this can be a more human story about dreams, aspirations and challenges, says director Bo Landin.
