World's Largest Cruise Ships

In 2009 the Oasis of the Seas will shatter all records and become the biggest cruise ship ever built. Apart from sheer size, the ship will be a high tech vessel for the 21st century, and will present features that have never been seen on a ship before.
A group of architects from several countries (USA, UK and Sweden) were brought together to create the world’s most amazing ship. Their brief was “simple”: create something that has never been seen before! To build the world's largest ship designers and engineers are put to the ultimate test in ship building. With safety and environmental concerns a high priority, they must construct an entire city at sea. With models, mockups and prototypes they perform detailed and spectacular tests. During arduous sea trials the ship is put through the ringers. Structural engineers must come up with construction features to make the Oasis of the Seas a near unsinkable ship.
Director Bo Landin has had an unfettered opportunity to follow the entire planning and production process, presenting a unique behind-the-scenes view of a major construction project. And it can be said up front: not all ideas survived from the planning meetings to the production process. Of utmost importance has been to make sure that all aspects of the ship pass the rigorous safety and environmental concerns. After all, more than 7 500 guests and a crew of 2 000 must be safely cared for.
The film was originally produced for the National Geographic Channel. a 3-part DVD series has also been produced for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

Nature's Dance

With Jan Henriksson's beautiful HD cinematography, Bo Landin is presently editing a film called "Nature's Dance". The film is a poetic, and somewhat humoristic account of the three spring months in Scandinavia when many different species "dance" as a prelude to mating. In the film we meet the capercaillie fighting it out, the cranes dancing, the black cock's ritual performances and the ruffs living out its vibrant feelings in complete silence. This film is co-produced with Discovery HD Channel.
